The extensive tour has taken place in more than 8 of China’s major concert halls

In September 2017, Alexander has undertook a major tour of Chinese cities in such concert halls as Shanghai city theatre, Xinghai Concert Hall,  Tianjin Grand Theatre. He will perform a programme of Russian works: the Concert Suite from Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker, Lullaby Op. 16 No. 1 by Tchaikovsky-Rachmaninov, The Circassian March from Glinka’s "Ruslan and Lyudmila" transcribed by Liszt, and Night on Bald Mountain and Pictures at an Exhibition, both by Mussorgsky.


This year, St. Petersburg will host the first ever Alexander Yakovlev Piano Festival

The Grand Piano in the Palace Festival will open on 10 August 2017 in Tsarskoye Selo, and close on 20 August in the Marble Palace in St. Petersburg. More than 50 young pianists from all over the world will take part in the Festival. The Festival will be an annual event.


Alexander has performed in Tchaikovsky's Hall in Moscow on 21 of July.

Alexander Yakovlev’s annual  tour of cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland continues.

In the 2017 season, as part of a tour of 11 cities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland Alexander is performing his Seelenwelten! programme, which includes works by Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms.

For the new season in 2018,Alexander will offer a programme entitled Die Fünfte! Beethoven forever! which will include works by Beethoven, in particular, rarely performed transcriptions of Beethoven’s symphonies by Franz Liszt.



Alexander Yakovlev performed his own versions of works by Prokofiev and Mussorgsky at the Beethovenfest Bonn Festival

These included Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kijé (op. 60) and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, as well as his own arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Night on Bold Mountain. The audience were also delighted by traditional transcriptions of the Scherzo and March from the opera The Love for Three Oranges, three pieces op. 96, and Sonata No. 4 in C minor, all by Prokofiev.


Alexander Yakovlev’s début at Palau de la Música de València

Alexander performed to great acclaim at the Palau de la Música de València in April. The audience gave him a standing ovation, refusing to let him leave the stage. Alexander has been enormously popular in Spain ever since his performance at the Masters of Zaragoza Festival in the Mozart Hall in Zaragoza back in 2010, playing among such renowned musicians as Lang Lang, Yo-Yo Ma, and Leif Ove Andsnes.

Chamber concert in Mexico

In May 2017 in Monterrey’s Auditorio San Pedro, Alexander Yakovlev and Nikita Borisoglebsky (violin) played the 28th annual Parnassós Spring Season festival. The pair performed works by Beethoven, Shostakovich, and César Franck.

"It was just spectacular performance. Two stars crossed our sky" - said the Founder of the festival Myrthala Salazar.


Winner of the Musical Olympics Festival in St. Petersburg

Alexander is the winner of the 21st Musical Olympics international festival in St. Petersburg. Alexander Yakovlev, the winning pianist, played unbelievably in the chapel, said the President of the Musical Olympic Foundation Iryna Nikitina.
